Appraiser

A person appointed by a legally qualified authority to determine the true value of property (household goods, animals, business stock, etc.), and of real estate. One or more appraisers may be appointed by a probate officer to take an inventory of all real and personal property held by a decedent, which may reveal important evidence about that person's occupation, literacy, military service, etc.
